Introduction to Mindfulness. What’s the big deal about mindfulness and why is everyone talking about it? Amy Tarrant from Meditate Detroit will lead you through a basic introduction to mindfulness. In this 75-minute session you will have the opportunity to experience two different meditations. Amy will discuss the brain research and benefits of practicing mindfulness, the history and what the big deal is.

Amy founded Meditate Detroit in 2010 with a mission to coach children, teens, adults, families,
educators, and business people on their own mindfulness adventures, resulting in a community
of mindful thinkers. Meditate Detroit seeks to cultivate a community that is sustainable in
happiness, peacefulness, health, and wellbeing … one breath at a time.
Amy has been a meditator of over 20 years. She has been teaching mindfulness for 15 years.
She received her training through Brown University.

Join us as we welcome Vibrational Sound Therapist, Energy Master, and Shamanic Medicine Women, Lisa Harthun back to the Yoga Garden for a very special Gong Immersion session.
WHAT TO BRING:
• Yoga Mat (or) Meditation Chair for those who wish to be seated for the session
• Items for your comfort: blanket, pillow/bolster, prop
• Water (covered containers only)
Event Details: You will be carried through a transformative journey through the wonderful symphonic waves of sound to achieve higher states of consciousness, and deeper peace within. Benefits of the soothing gong waves are deep relaxation, mental clarity, emotional release, physical healing. The session is a blending of various gongs, chimes, tingsha, Tibetan singing bowls, gentle breathwork instruction, healing Sanskrit mantras, along with guided Yoga Nidra meditation. You do not need to be experienced in meditation, and as a participant, you will be guided through this deeply relaxing, supportive, and balancing journey. All are welcome; Individuals, couples, and small groups. This is not a yoga practice. However, you will want to dress in loose comfortable clothing.
Note: Please plan to arrive a little early to get settled in. No late arrivals will be permitted once the session begins.

We offer a unique program that is super practical and provides the skills you need to teach yoga to others. By implementing specific techniques for creating a flow sequence, trainees graduate understanding how to build an intelligent flow and deliver it to an in-person and online classroom.
